The Knowledge Economy portal is an initiative of the Knowledge Economy Resource Center, a project launched by the World Bank office in Romania with the logistic support of the eRomania Gateway association.
The portal provides updated information from the fields of ITC, research,education:

KE Forum, Budapest
On March 23-26, 2004, Budapest hosted the Third Knowledge Economy Forum,
entitled "Improving Competitiveness Through a Knowledge-based Economy".
Building on the past years fora held in Paris in 2002 and in Helsinki in
2003, this year's Knowledge Economy Forum concentrated on four major
themes:
1) From Research to Industry and Markets
2) Financing of Innovation
3) Tertiary Education for the Knowledge Economy
4) Innovation in Traditional Sectors and Local Development.
Participants included high level government officials, as well as
representatives of the civil society and the private sector from 22
countries from Europe and Central Asia. The Forum consisted of key note
speeches, case study presentations, thematic group discussions and site
visits. The Romanian Delegation included:
